Mind Tree, Orissa govt. sign MoU for Devp Centre

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: Mind Tree Consulting Private Limited, a leading international IT company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Orissa government to establish a development centre here.

The MoU was signed by Mind Tree Chief Operating Officer Subrat Bagchi and IT Department Secretary S N Tripathy in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Information Technology Minister S N Patra yesterday.

Official sources said the Mind Tree would be provided with nearly 30 acre of land in the Info City to start construction work during the next financial year.

The Development Centre is likely to come up within a period of 12-18 months and employ nearly 1000 software professionals within a period of two years.

The Company has a long term plan of employing 5000 software professionals in the Bhubaneswr centre.

Bhubaneswar has achieved the distinction of the only state capital in Eastern India to have big four IT companies- Infosys, Satyam, TCS and Wipro.

Sources said other major IT companies like Hexaware Technologies and Ramtech Systems have also finalised their plan to start operation in Bhubaneswar soon.
