Jyoti, Shiv improve, Atwal slips in golf rankings

New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) Jyoti Randhawa made slight improvement to be the highest ranked Indian golfer at 114 while Arjun Atwal's disastrous debut at The Players Championship (TPC) pushed him two rungs down to 136th in the latest Official World Golf Rankings.

Randhawa (1.21), who could not make the cut in the million dollar TCL Classic in China, improved his position from his last week's standing of 117.

Atwal (1.10), who failed to make the cut in three back-to-back events, including TPC, slipped from his previous week's 134th place.

Shiv Kapur (1.03), after his 41st finish in the TCL Open, climbed two notches to 145. Compared to Justin Leonard, the Delhi lad moves to Sentosa Golf Club in Singapore next month hoping to bag one of the four tickets to The Open Championship in July.

Meanwhile, Canadian Stephen Ames rose 37 places to 27th in the world rankings after his win at the Players Championship in Florida, according to information received here today.
