iSoft's Lorenzo shows scale capability
Chennai, Mar 28 (UNI) iSoft's healthcare solution 'Lorenzo' handled six million 'real' transactions per hour for 25,000 concurrent users, iSoft India CEO Ravan Boddu said today.
At a press conference here to share the ''exceptional performance results'' achieved with HP, Intel and Microsoft during a regional scale user benchmark proving Lorenzo's scalability, he said the results were validated by International Data Corporation analysts and its health industry insights subsidiary.
The results verified the capability of the system to provide the performance and scalability to support 25,000 concurrent users delivering over six million transactions an hour and scale down to 25 concurrent users with 8,289 transactions per hour.
''The product is capable of scaling up, scaling down and scaling away,'' iSoft Global Product Development Director Satya Kaliki said, highlighting the features of the product, capable of providing end-to-end access to information of a patient from birth to death.
Lorenzo was a single database, relevant to multiple users, which could cater to diverse user communities, he added.
It was the first-of-its-kind large scale enterprise system by an Indian company, he claimed, adding that the commodity technology model-based product was built to handle total ownership cost issue.
The core platform supported any language and it was highly ''configurable and scalable solution,'' Mr Boddu said, adding that the product had been tested in UK and Germany, among others.
The 262 million Pound turnover company with a global reach across 1,800 hospitals in 27 countries had a market share of over 60 per cent in UK, he said.
The earlier version, implemented at the National Health Services of the UK, handled over million transactions per hour.
To a query, Mr Boddu said eight to nine per cent of the revenues were invested in the development activities.
