Shimla, Mar 28 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Assembly today passed the 2006-07 general budget and authorised the government to spend Rs 9331 crore from the consolidated fund, besides adopting the Appropriation Bill.

The House discussed and voted the demands of Health and Family Welfare, Roads and Bridges, Industry and Mining and Irrigation and Public Health departmens, while the remaining 27 demands were passed without discussion.

While the BJP withdrew the cut motions for Health and Family Welfare department, the House rejected the cut motion in respect of Roads and Bridges.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had presented the Budget on March 3 and debate on it concluded on March 14.

The demands for grants were discussed on March 24, 27 and 28 after the House reassembled after nine days recess.
