HAL declared public utiliy service till Sep 24

New Delhi, Mar 28: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been declared a public utility service under the Industrial Disputes Act for six months with effect from March 24.

The HAL employees, as a result, would be required to give notice to their employer six weeks in advance of proceeding on strike so that conciliatory proceedings could be started, a notification issued by the Labour Ministry said today.

During the conciliatory proceedings and seven days after their completion, the employees cannot go on strike, the notification added.
