Gujarat Forensic Laboratory gets ISO certification

Gandhinagar, Mar 28 (UNI) Gujarat State Forensic Science Laboratory (GSFSL) has been awarded ISO-2005 certification by the National Academician Board of Testing of Calibration Laboratory (NABL) for its outstanding facilities and performance.

This was announced by Minister of State for Home Amit Shah in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly here today.

Mr Shah said the ISO-2005 was awarded ater a team of as many as eight experts from the department made a two-day visit to the GSFSL on March 17 and 18, and later submitted a favourable report.

The NABL team tested the facilities of chemical sciences, DNA, explosives, narcotics, brain finger printing, narco-analysis, lie-detector, blood alcohol, documents, cyber crime, finger prints, physical science and ballistics at the GSFSL.

The GSFSL had applied to NABL, New Delhi, for ISO-2005 certification award about six months back, the Minister said.
