Governor to honour outstanding sportspersons on April 5

Chandigarh, Mar 28 (UNI) The Haryana Government will honour the outstanding sportspersons of the state who have got various medals at national and international level.

Sports Minister Phool Chand Mullana today said that Governor Dr A R Kidwai would confer the State Sports Awards and Bheema Puruskar here on April five.

The Sports Minister said on this occasion, five players would be given best sports awards of the State--Bheema Puruskar and 30 other players would be honoured by with cash prizes.

He said the winners of the Bheema Puruskar would get Rs one lakh in cash, Bheema Pratibha, ang vastra, blazer, tie and scarf.

He said the players who would be honoured by Bheema Puruskar included Hockey player Ms Jasjeet Kaur Handa from Shahbad, Sunil Kumar, athlete from Mahendergarh, Volleyball player Sanjay Kumar from Panchkula, Ms Archana, Judo player from Hisar and Ms Neha Rathee, wrestler from Faridabad.

Mr Mullana said on this occasion, 30 sportspersons would also be honoured who have performed well in national and international sports competition.
