Good following prompted AIADMK to contest in Kerala: Jaya
Chennai, Mar 28 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today said the party decided to contest a considerable number of seats in Kerala as it had good following in that state.
Releasing the AIADMK manifesto for the Kerala Assembly elections at the party headquarters here, Ms Jayalalithaa said she had received information from various sources that the AIADMK had a good following in Kerala.
''We would like to test our strength as we have nothing to lose.
We are just making an entry and it's a new experience,'' she said.
She said the party had received 67 applications from ticket aspirants in Kerala, out of which four had been applied in her name to contest.
Ms Jayalalithaa has announced candidates for 54 Assembly seats in Kerala, including Thiruvanthapuram (East), Thiruvanthapuram (west), Nemam, Kovalam, Varkala, Kozhikode one, Kayankulam and Palakkad.
