'Draft delimitation proposals published'

Shimla, Mar 28: The Delimitation Commission today (Mar 28, 2006) said it had published its draft delimitation proposals for delimitation of Parliamentary and assembly constituencies of Himachal Pradesh, state Chief Election Officer (CEO) Prem Kumar said.

Any objections and suggestions to these delimitation proposals could be sent to the Delimitation Commission Secretary on or before April 10.

Mr Kumar said these objections and suggestions would be considered by the Delimitation Commission in its public sittings at various parts of the state.

The public hearings for Chamba, Kangra, Hamirpur and Una would be held at Government Polytechnic College, Kangra on April 21 from 1000 hrs, he said.

The public hearing for Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur, Lahaul and Spitit (except Spiti) would be held at Vipasha Sadan on April 23 from 1000 hrs, while for Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kinnaur, Spiti Sub-Division of Lahaul Spiti district it would be held at Shimla on April 25 from 1000, Mr Kumar added.
