Dacoits torch bus, kidnap passengers
Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, Mar 28 (UNI) Dacoits set ablaze a bus and kidnapped seven passengers and a motorcyclist in Sheopur district in Madhya Pradesh today, police said.
Police said Rambabu Gadaria dacoit gang was suspected to be involved in the incident as the gang had earlier held out a threat to loot the bus.
As the Indore-Sheopur luxury bus reached Nonpura Ghat under Karahal police station area, about 50 Km from here, the dacoits felled trees and put it across the road to stop the bus. Two youth who reached there on a motor cycle were also stopped.
According to a complaint lodged by bus driver Gurudev Singh with Sheopur police station, about a dozen dacoits selectively looted the passengers after asking their caste name. After allowing the passengers to disembark, the bus was set on fire.
Seven bus passengers and a motor cyclist were abducted by the gang, police said, adding senior police officials have reached the spot for investigation.
