Counting of votes for RS, LC seats gets delayed

Lucknow, Mar 28 (UNI) The counting of votes for 10 Rajya Sabha and 13 state Legislative Council seats in Uttar Pradesh was still to begin, awaiting permission from the Election Commission.

Counting was earlier scheduled to start at 1700 hrs after the polling ended at 1600 hrs today.

BJP and Congress had petitioned the EC against the ruling Samajwadi Party, alleging rigging and coercion tactics in the polling process.

Meanwhile, sources said the EC nod for counting was expected soon.
