City court sentences three to 5 years RI for attempt to murder
New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) A city court today sentenced three men to five year's imprisonment for attempting to murder a 30 year-old-man in Dabri area in South-west Delhi four years ago.
Patiala House Court Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Vinod Kumar, held Ajay, Anil Kumar and Dinesh guilty of attempting to murder Mohammad Aziz and sentenced them to five years' imprisonment.
The court further slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on each of the convicted persons.
Ajay, who did not like the intimacy of Aziz with his sister, along with two of his associates Anil Kumar and Dinesh, took him to an isolated place and attacked him using knife, razor and rods on september 29, 2002. Aziz was injured and admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) hospital and on this basis of his statement all the three were arrested on September 30, according to the prosecution.
The three were convicted under sections 307 (murder) and 34 (Common intention to commit a crime) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
