Circuit bench: Agitators lay seige to ZP office

Dharwad, Karnataka, Mar 28 (UNI) Agitators, demanding early commencement of construction work for setting up a circuit bench of the Karnataka High Court here, laid seige to the Zilla Panchayat office, while the fast-unto-death by Dharwad Bar Association President B D Hiremath entered the fourth day today.

Agitators forced the panchayat staff to stop their work. Members of the Bar continued to boycott court proceedings for the fourth day and the Hubli Bar Association members also struck work to express solidarity with their Dharwad counterparts.

A visibly weak Mr Hiremath told newspersons here that the Deputy Chief Minister's statement in the Assembly was only verbal and declared that he would not withdraw the fast until the tender process for the construction work was initiated.
