CBI nabs three IT officials accepting bribe

Ahmedabad, Mar 28 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sleuths have caught red-handed three officials of Income-Tax Department while accepting bribe from a trader, Praful Shah, to reduce penalty for tax evasion.

According to sources here, the trader had lodged a complaint against the I-T officials and a trap was laid at their office here yesterday.

Those rounded up included an officer, a tax assistant and an inspector.

A case has been registered under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
