BJP names 128 nominees for Kerala Assembly elections

New Delhi, Mar 28 (UNI) The BJP, after establishing over ten per cent vote base in the bastion of Communists and Congress-led alliance in Kerala, is now seeking to contest 128 of the 140 Assembly seats in the state.

Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu, who is incharge of the party in southern states told newspersons here that the party would be announcing the names of seven more candidates. It had fielded 10 women, 10 scheduled caste, two Muslim and three Christian candidates. Mrs Radha Velayudham, a worker belonging to Scheduled Caste will be contesting from a general seat Mala.

He said the party would generally go alone in Tamil Nadu but there were about 47 political groups which were seeking alliance with the BJP and the party had named former union minister Tirunavukkarasar and three other leaders to hold discussions with these groups and take a decision.
