Army busts 2 hideouts, arms recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 28: Army and Special Task Force (STF) of Jammu and Kashmir police unearthed two hideouts and recovered huge militant cache of arms and ammunition and arrested a militant in south Kashmir, a defence ministry spokesman said.

He said based on a specific information, troops of 55 and 44 Rashitriya Rifles (RR) and STF launched a joint operation at Pulwama in south Kashmir early this morning.

After a long search a Hizbul Mujahideen militant identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat alias Sakib was arrested.

During the on the spot interrogation, the militant took the search party to another hideout in a nearby village Litter.

The arms and ammunition recovered from the hideout included two AK 47 rifles, one UBGL, two AK Magazines and 100 rounds of AK ammunition at Litter.

He later took the search party to Hussanpora where one UMG, one RPG and 100 rounds of UMG.

The apprehended terrorist has been handed over to the police at Pulwama, he said.
