2190 Muslim migrants getting relief for 16 yrs
Jammu, Mar 27 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has been providing relief to 4311 muslim migrants who left their homes in Kashmir due the threat of militancy and registered themselves as migrants, when insurgency sparked in the valley since 1990, minister Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said.
Replying to question of Basharat Bukhari, G N lone and Bilal Ahmed Khan Lodhi in the Legislative Council Mr Yasin said 4811 muslims from the various districts of the valley were registered in the migrants list from 1990 to Febuary 2005.
He added that 2121 migrants out of 4311 have been excluded from the list and provided the full details of the remaining 2190 migrants who were still getting help from the state governemnt.
''Since the list is exhaustive, it may not be possible to give all the details and in case any liegislative council member wants some specific information of any migrant, it can provided separately," he said.
The state government is providing Rs 3000 in cash to every family, free ration and many other facilities each month to all the mirgrants, he added.
