woman burnt to death by in-laws for dowry

Faridabad, Mar 25 (UNI) A woman was allegedly burnt to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Chandpur village here, police said today.

The victim, Santosh, was married to Om Prakash two years ago and since then she was being tortured by her husband and in-laws for dowry, sources said.

She used to be beaten often by her in-laws who had been demanding a colour TV, motorcycle and Rs 50,000 as dowry from her parents, police said. Santosh could not fulfil their demand consequently she was burnt to death by her husband and in-laws, they said.

An FIR was lodged with the Chaisa Police Station against all the six members of the family.
