Suicide victim's mother blames LU Prof

Lucknow, Mar 25 (UNI) A complaint has been lodged with the city Police against Prof Ram Karan Singh (Sr), Head Lucknow University statistical department, holding him responsible for the suicide of Anshu Srivastava, a research scholar under him.

Anshu, a bright student who had qualified NET exams, was mentally harassed by Singh to an extent that she committed suicide on March 23, Mithilesh Srivastava, mother of the girl alleged in her complaint.

The complaint said Singh had been pressurising Anshu to give private tution to her daughter as well as make notes for her which she refused.

Singh, however, denies the charges as ''outrageous'' and far from truth.

A FIR was lodged with the Talkatora police station here in this connection. Inquiry is underway, the police added.
