Sonia's resignation would give impetus to UP Cong: Renuka

Written by: Staff

Lucknow, Mar 25 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Renuka Choudhury today claimed the resignation of AICC chief Sonia Gandhi would give impetus to the Congress in Uttar Pradesh.

''Although UP assembly election is due next year, the incident has made people ponder upon the 'sacrifice' made by her,'' Ms Choudhury said here.

Talking to reporters, she claimed the Nehru-Gandhi family was known for its ''sacrifice'' for the country.

Criticising the opposition party for raking up a ''false issue'' of the Ordinance, she asserted, ''People can now see the conspiracy of these parties...the resignation of Ms Gandhi is a befitting reply to them.'' ''Let the election come, people will teach these opportunistic parties a lesson,'' she added.
