Situation under control in Karnal village, say authorities

Karnal, Mar 25 (UNI) The situation in Mehmadpur village of Karnal district is under control, authorities today said.

A spokesman for the administration said that the dispute between the two groups of the village was sorted out successfully in presence of the panchayat.

He said the problem started when a few anti-social elements tried to set four houses in the village on fire. Before the problem could take a serious turn, the district police reached there and brought the situation under control.

There was no loss of life or property and both the parties, in the presence of the panchayat admitted that some anti-social elements were trying to disturb the brotherhood in the village, he added.

He informed that a 10-member committtee had been constituted to look into such matters in future, in which five members from each side were selected.

The spokesman said all the problems would be sorted out at the committee level in the future and would go to the District Administration in case of any administrative hurdles.
