Imphal, Mar 25 (UNI) Naga People's Organisation (NPO) today announced to stop transportation of rice to the city if the Manipur government did not prevent alleged pilfering in the public distribution system.

The NPO alleged that about 30 per cent of rice alloted to the hilly areas are taken away by various militant organisations.

The NPO has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh urging him to stop ''official-militant'' nexus and prevent looting of rice.

The NPO said its activists would stop all the vehicles carrying rice and take out the quota alloted for the tribals.
