Minor gang-raped in Aurangabad; five arrested, two absconding

Aurangabad, Mar 25 (UNI) A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped near the Salim Ali lake here, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sudhir Dabhade said.

He said the incident occurred around 1930 hrs last evening when the girl had gone to the lake along with her boy friend.

While her boy friend went to buy an ice-cream, a gang of seven youth took her forcibly to a deserted place where two of them raped her while the others watched, he added.

When the victim's boy friend returned, he was also assaulted by the gang.

The police later got an anonymous call informing them about the incident and arrested five members of the gang while two of them managed to escape.

The boys have been identified as Akil Ahmed (21), Sayed Feroz (18), Shaikh Umer (18), Imran Siddiqui (18) and Sheikh Zahed. The absconders have been identified as Kaisar and Javed, both aged 18 years, said ACP Dabhade.

An FIR has been registered against all the seven accused under sections of 376, 359, 354 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
