Tripura Congress hails Sonia Gandhi's resignation
Agartala, Mar 24 (UNI) The Tripura Pradesh Congress has hailed the decision of party president Sonia Gandhito resign from the membership of Parliament and the National Advisory Council, describing it as ''true to the tradition of the country's democracy''.
State party spokesman Ratan Chakraborty said Mrs Gandhi had set up an example of healthy, transparent and value-based politics by resigning from Parliament and the NAC in view of the controversy over holding an office of profit.
Leader of the opoosition and senior Congress leader Ratanlal Nath urged the left MPs to follow suit to uphold the cause of democracy and value based politics.
