Surat city to get one more bridge

Surat, Mar 24 (UNI) Surat city, which has three long bridges over river Tapi, will have one more bridge from Jangirpura to Dhaboli connecting two parts of the city.

The foundation stone for the construction of the bridge will be laid in May by State Urban Development Minister I K Jadeja.

Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials said the new bridge will cost Rs 65 crore and will be a major step in connecting the Eastern and Western parts of the city.

The construction of the bridge will take 18-24 months, SMC officials said, adding that this will reduce the heavy traffic on the other bridges and will also help in reducing the pollution in the city.
