Select metal prices rise on heavy industrial demand
Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) Select metal prices rose on heavy industrial demand, along with encouraging advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange here today said.
In ferrous section: brass utensils and brass cuttings hiked by Rs 200 each per quintal while that of copper utensils by Rs 100 per quintal and aluminium utensils by Rs 50 per quintal on lesser stock supply.
In non-ferrous section: zinc slab shot up by Rs 400 per quintal while that of lead ingots by Rs 50 per quintal on heavy demand.
Tin slab also rose by Rs eight per kg on better buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- 26,100, copper utensils- Rs 24,100, brass utensils- Rs 18,900, brass cuttings- Rs 19,900 and aluminium utensils- Rs 9,950.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 28,300, aluminium ingots- Rs 12,800, zinc slab- Rs 13,400, lead ingots- Rs 6,350, Tin slab- Rs 415 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 770 (per kg).
