SC shows leniency in commercial activities in residential areas

New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court granted a major relief to those carrying out commercial activities from residential areas, giving them time till March 28 to file individual affidavit with the MCD, undertaking that they would stop all the activities by June 30.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabbharwal, and Mr Justice C K Thakkar also directed that the sealing process in respect of those who do not file the affidavit of the undertaking shall start with effect from March 29, as per the order of the court dated February 16.

The court also appointed a monitoring committee, comprising refired burea bureaucrat Bhurelal, and former Election Commission observer K J Rao, subject to their consent.
