Renuka Sugars to start crushing operations from Oct 15

Gulbarga, Mar 24 (UNI) The Belgaum-based Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd's under-construction factory at Ghattarga village on the banks of river Bhima in this district of Karnataka was likely to commence crushing operations from October 15 this year.

Company Sugarcane Division Deputy General Manager N S Mugalkhod told newspersons here last evening that the factory would have a crushing capacity of around 5,000 tonnes of sugarcane everyday.

More than nine lakh tonnes of sugarcane was expected to be crushed in a year.

Stating that all the factories run by Renuka Sugars crushed about 30,000 tonnes of sugarcane every day, he said it was expected to be augmented to 50,000 tonnes by 2008.
