Qatar students to dedicate school to Jehanabad
New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) A group of 14 students from Qatar are currently here to dedicate a school for the underprivileged children of Jehanabad in Bihar, for which they collected money in the emirates to carry forward their mission of "Education for All".
The students of MES Indian School in Doha are leaving for Jehanabad tomorrow to hand over the newly constructed building for boys and girls to the Kainat Foundation, which is running several schools and educational centres in the backward district of Bihar.
Mr Shakil Ahmed Kakvi, Coordinator of the group, told UNI that students donated their pocket money for the construction of the school.
They have also adopted more than 200 children of the district and provided them books, uniform and other material to continue their studies.
The students also visited Sri Lanka to see whether they could start any educational programme there for the underprivileged students.
Mr Kakvi said the school children love India and are keen to help children living in far-flung areas of the countries to pursue studies. ''We have great fascination for India. It is a great country" Mr Bilal Ahmed and Kumar Nilesh, students of the MES School said.
They were amazed to see progress made by India in all spheres and loved interacting with students of various schools. The students also attended NCC camp at Nizamuddin. They also visited the Rashtrapati Bhawan today.
