Oppn moves Breach of Privilege against Minister

Jammu, Mar 24 (UNI) The National Conference (NC) today moved the Breach of Privilege notice against Public Health, Engineering, Irrigation and Flood control minister Qazi Mohammad Afzal.

Speaker Tara Chand, accepting the notice against Mr Qazi Afzal, said that he will examine the notice and then take a decision whether it is fit case for Breach of Privilege or not.

Earlier, when the House re-assembled at 1530 hrs, the Leader of Opposition Abdul Rahim Rather while moving the Breach of Privilege accused Mr Rather of 'misleading the House'.

Mr Rather said Mr Qazi Afzal had 'lied' in the House. ''In the last session, he had denied making any appointments while replying to a special one day discussion in the Assembly. He made a brief statement yesterday cancelling the appointments'',he said adding ''this House has been insulted. The Minister has no right to continue in office.'' MORE UNI HGV LS RK1730
