Office of profit bill with prospective effect: Naidu
Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today stated the Bill to redefine the 'Office of Profit' should not be given retrospective effect.
Reacting to AICC President Sonia Gandhi's resignation from the Lok Sabha, Mr Naidu said the proposed Bill should have prospective effect and the party will make its stand clear.
Asked whether Ms Gandhi's act would help the Congress in the five states which will go to elections, Mr Naidu said her resignation could not be termed as sacrifice and hence, will not evoke any sympathy among voters.
''Instead Ms Jaya Bachchan will have lot of sympathy as she was disqualified,'' he added.
Asked whether he would tour West Bengal for the coming elections, Mr Naidu said he was invited to campaign in Assam against Congress.
In a similar manner, if the CPI(M) in West Bengal invited him for the campaigning, he would oblige.
''The TDP as a policy is ready to campaign against the Congress anywhere in the country,'' he added.
