NTPC to generate 1,78,000 MUs IN 2006-07

New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI)The country's largest power generator, NTPC Limited plans to generate 1,78,000 Million Units (MUs) of electricity during the financial year 2006-07.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to this effect was signed here today by Mr R V Shahi, Secretary (Power), Government of India and C P Jain, CMD, NTPC Limited.

The Corporation is one of the few central PSUs who have signed MOUs with the Government of India since introduction of the system in the country in the year 1987-88 and has been rated ''Excellent'' all the years.
