Irrigation project: K'taka govt to order inquiry

Bangalore, Mar 24 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will order an inquiry into the misappropriation of funds and substandard works in carrying out the Narayanpur Left Bank Canal of Upper Krishna project at Indi taluk in Bijapur district, Irrigation Minister K S Eshwarappa informed the Legislative Council today.

Replying to a query from Mr Prakash Rathod (Congress) during the question hour, he said the government had taken note of the irregularities in the project and would order an inquiry soon.

When Mr V S Ugrappa (Congress) demanded either a judicial or COD inguiry into the matter, the Minister said the government would take a decision on it later.
