India, France, UK, Hong Kong animators bag FICCI-BAF awards

Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) India's 'Choose your own adventure' by D C Entertainment Ltd won the best animated film in the FICCI-BAF (best animated film) awards 2006, at a function held here last night.

Animation films from France, UK and Hong Kong also won prizes in different categories here.

A panel of judges picked the winners of films from seven countries in 19 categories. The jury comprised Chairman Bheemsain Khurana, Graphiti Multimedia Chairman Dr Ram Mohan, Whistling Woods Dean Kurt Inderbitzin, Cinesite UK Chairman Colin Brown, RTGanimate Vice President Satya Murthy, among others, a release issued here today said.

The winning entries are - 'Choose your won adventure' (animated feature film)-India, 'Horn Ok Please' (short film-professional)-UK, 'The Building' (short film-student)-France, 'Zombie Hotel' (TV episode)-France, 'Simpu Kumar' (promos)-India, 'Veneta Cucino' (ad films)-India, 'Need for Speed Most Wanted' (PC games)-Hong Kong, 'Guitar Hero' (console games)-India, 'Slyder' (mobile games)-India, 'Mangal Pandey-the rising' (best VFX in a commercial)-India, 'In the Air' (best VFX in music)-India, 'Ghazani' (best VFX in a shot of the year)-India, 'Horny Lovers' (social welfare-professional)-India, 'Takes you Higher' (social welfare-student)-India, 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' (special jury award 1)-India, 'Dried Up' (special jury award 2)-India, 'Hanuman' (special contribution to Indian animation industry)-India and 'Amar Chitra Katha' and 'Twinkle' (special contribution to Indian animation industry, creative story telling in visual form award)-India.
