HC declines to grant bail to Vikas in Katara murder case

New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today declined to grant bail to former Rajya Sabha member D P Yadav's son Vikas Yadav in the Nitish Katara murder case.

Justice S K Agrawal refused to release Vikas on bail as the case was in an advanced stage of hearing.

The police had cancelled the passport of Bharti Yadav, the sister of Vikas, who had been hiding in England.

Vishal, along with his cousin Vikas, had allegedly killed Nitish for his friendship with their sister Bharti Yadav.

Bharti fled the country after her friend Nitish, was murdered on the intervening night of February 17-18, 2002 in neighbouring Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The Supreme Court had ordered for the transfer of the case for trial to the Delhi District Court.
