Govt to take possession of properties in TN and Uttaranchal

Hyderabad, Mar 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for Panchayatraj and Endowments Mr J C Diwakar Reddy today told the state assembly that the government was making efforts to take possession of the properties of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in Tamil Nadu and Uttaranchal.

Replying to a question by N Amaranatha Reddy, D Narendra Kumar and A S Manohar of the TDP during the Question Hour he said TTD had 471.40 acres in Amaravati near Mahabalipuram near Chennai and 18 acres in Uttaranchal.

Denying the TDP allegations that the government was trying to alienate these properties to partymen, the Minister said the TDP had alienated 981.40 acres of endowment land during its nine year rule.

He said when 2.7 acre land was alienated after Congress came to power, action was taken against the officer responsible.
