Jammu, Mar 24 (UNI) Four Congress MLAs have decided to step down from the post of chairmanship of various boards and corporations as it comes under the designation of 'office of profit.' The sources said Congress MLAs Haji Rashid (Sopore), G M Saroori (Inderwal), Shafi Bhat (Amirakadal) and Girdhari Lal (Hiranagar) were asked to resign from the chairmanship of Handicraft Development Corporation, Social Welfare Board, Agro Industries Development Corporation and Scheduled Caste Development Board respectively because they come under 'office of profit'.

Earlier talking to mediapersons after the adjournment of the Assembly here, Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig has advised MLAs to resign from 'office of profits.' The Deputy CM said, ''The government has asked our legislators to leave the 'office of profit' at once and four Congress MLAs will step down from the post of chairman of various corporations and boards.''
