Extortionists posing as 'Aaj Tak' reporters caught

New Delhi, Mar 24 (UNI) Police have busted a gang of extortionists and arrested four persons, aged between 29-46 years, while posing as 'sting operators'.

Police said the gang of four was caught from Janakpuri area of West Delhi while the men had come to collect Rs two lakh from the owner of a placement agency in Patel Nagar yesterday.

The accused had threatened to 'expose' his involvement in a prostitution racket under the cover of running a placement agency, while posing as reporters from a leading Hindi news channel.

A car, two motorcycles, three mobile phones and fake visiting cards of 'Aaj Tak' were recovered from their possession.

During interrogation the accused revealed they were working under Parveen Sahni, who masterminded the operations and searched for potential victims.
