Elders must guide youth to mainstream

Written by: Staff

Jammu Mar 24: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt General(retd) Sinha today (Mar 24, 2006) exuded confidence that the elders could play a positive role in helping the misguided youth lead a dignified life as resposible and dutiful citizens of the country.

He said irrespective of religious or regional affiliation every Indian has equal opportunity to prosper and progress.

Gen Sinha substantiated his claims by citing examples of President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who made to the top by commitment, hardwork and dynamism.

General Sinha made these reference while interacting with a group of elderly 'gujjars' of Udhampur district on their return from 'watan ki sair'. He said elders have always been instrumental in bringing reforms in the society. They can help by advising the misguided youth to shun violence and join the mainstream.
