Eight sentenced to life for three murders in UP

Hardoi, Mar 24 (UNI) Eight persons accused in two separate murder cases have been sentenced to life in prison by courts in this district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to prosecution Special Sessions Judge Tarkeshwar Pandey, after taking into account available evidence, yesterday held Deshraj, Ramesh, Buddha, Pradip, Kallu, Visesar, and Chotelal guilty for murdering Shiv Karan, village pradhan of Myoni village on May 25, 1999 and sentenced them to life.

Meanwhile, District Judge Yogendra Singhal, yesterday, pronounced life imprisonment to Mahesh Prasad, accused in a double murder case.

The prosecution said here today that Mahesh had killed his step mother and brother in the Bargadia village on October 16, 2003.

Taking into account the available evidence, the judge held Mahesh guilty for the crime and sentenced him to life in prison.
