Cong workers burn effigy of L K Advani in Amethi

Amethi, Mar 24 (UNI) The anger of Congress workers here triggered by yesterday's resignation of AICC president Sonia Gandhi, has still not abated, with the activists of the Mahila Congress today continuing protests in this parliamentary constituency of Ms Gandhi's son Rahul Gandhi.

The ire of the Mahila Congress workers, who assembled at the Sultanpur District Congress headquarters was targetted against the BJP only, with the activists burning in effigy the former deputy prime minister and raising anti-BJP slogans.

Similar protests had yesterday taken place in the neighbouring Rae Bareli district, housing the parliamentary seat of Ms Gandhi.
