4 die, several injured in road accident

Guwahati, Mar 24 (UNI) Four persons were killed on the spot and several injured in a road accident at Sonapur under Kamrup district today, police said.

The accident occurred when a Volvo bus coming from Dibrugarh to Guwahati rammed into a speeding sand-laden truck.

All the injured were shifted to Downtown hospital and Guwahati Medical College and Hospital here. The condition of two of them, including a woman, was stated to be critical.

All the victims were travelling in the bus. The bus driver was arrested but the truck driver managed to escape. Police have registered a case and investigation was on, police said.
