Two killed, 10 injured in land dispute in Amritsar city

Amritsar, Feb 22 (UNI) Two persons were killed and 10 others injured today in a land dispute in the Gulmarg colony on Majitha road in the city.

According to police, a group of about 10-12 armed persons led by one Ajit Singh allegedly attacked the family of Kartar Singh a retired school teacher.The immediate provocation for the attack was a residential plot owned by Kartar Singh.

Gurpreet Singh and Puran Singh were killed while 11 others including two women were injured in the attack in which .12 bore guns and pistols were used. Among the injured was Raj Kaur, a school teacher and wife of Kartar Singh.

The police arrested four people identified as Gurjinder, Tarjinder, Barjinder and Manjit. All the four are relatives of Ajit Singh.

A case was registered in this connection at the Sadar police station.
