New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) The Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) today said the removal of tax and other related barriers could double Bangladesh's export to India from the current level of 160 million dollars.

''The removal of tax and other barriers for export could double Bangladesh's export to India,'' DCCI President M A Momen said.

He added that all the MoUs and agreements should be able to reduce the export import gap that currently exists between India and Bangldesh.

Meanwhile, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and the DCCI today signed an agreement to promote exchange of industrial information between the two nations and explore ways to set up joint venture in areas of mutual co-operation.

ASSOCHAM President Anil K Aggarwal said, ''The MoU aims at developing trade and investment relations and establishing favourable conditions for interactions between member enterprises of DCCI and ASSCHAM.

Mr Aggarwal offered Bangladesh the expertise of Indian entrepreneurs in the field of renewable energy development.

He stressed that India being technologically advanced, could provide technological knowhow to Bangladesh in several fields.

The MoU also provides that industries of both the countries will move towards identifying specific sectors of business co-operation with the objectives of developing investments, technology transfer and greater third country market access, the ASSOCHAM said.

ASSOCHAM and DCCI will on a regular basis exchange information on their respective national economies, investment regulations, export possibilities and import requirements.

In addition, both the chambers will exchange publications, brochures and catalogues providing more information about their countries including economy and business segment, it added.
