Tourism and peace rally reaches India

Wagah, Mar 22 (UNI) A 'Himalayan Peace and Tourism' rally on wheels has arrived in India after traversing through various countries of Europe and Asia.

The rallists consisting of 17 vehicles crossed over from Pakistan through this border check post yesterday. In all there are 45 rallists including women taking part in this event.

The rally had commenced from London in January and will conclude at Kolkatta on April 11. Moving through the plains of Punjab the rally will move to the hill state of Himachal Pradesh and from there it would enter Uttranchal.

The rally after traversing through the hills of Uttranchal would proceed to Nepal.After touching Kathmandu it would turn back to again re-enter India and then finally conclude at Kolkatta.

The aim of the rally is to promote peace and tourism in Europe and Asia.
