Tax raids in Agra, evasion worth Rs one crore unearthed

Agra, Mar 22 (UNI) Tax evasion to the tune of Rs one crore has been unearthed here following raids by Central Excise and Service Tax department sleuths at different places.

Assitant Commissioner (Service Tax) Yashovardhan Pathak said today that raids were conducted at the premises of 13 builders in different parts of the city yesterday, following which cases of tax evasion worth Rs one crore came to light.

A sum of Rs 25 lakh was realised as tax by the sleuths from the defaulter builders and computers, documents and CDs were seized, Mr Pathak said.
