MP govt to reward Rs 1,000 for info on child marriages
Shajapur (MP), Mar 22: The Madhya Pradesh Government has announced a reward of Rs 1,000 for providing information about child marriages, in a bid to control the barbarian practice.
Chief Medical Officer S K Meena said information must be provided 48 hours before the marriage of an under-21-year-old boy or under-18-year-old girl to the concerned police station and Block Medical Officer.
Shajapur is one of the five districts in the country where most child of the marriages take place. Roughly, 86 per cent of child marriages takes place in this district.
