Germany to assist Indian SMEs
Kolkata, Mar 22 (UNI) German experts will provide consultancy to Indian Small and Medium Enterprises to help improve their products and services.
In a seminar on 'Skill Upgradation of SMEs-Assistance of Senior Expert Service,'' here today organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, German government supported organisation Senior Expert Services (SES) representative Mr Kunal Kundu said it provides support services to various Indian SMEs across the sectors like manufacturing, services and agriculture.
SES would be providing technical assistance and solve organisational problems on-site.
'' We have taken up around 3,000 projects in China. However, in India we have handled only 250 projects,'' Mr Kundu added.
Mr Ernst Schwering, Vice-Consul of Consulate Office of Federal Republic of German, who also present at the occasion, said bilateral trade between India and Germany has increased substantially over the years.
'' Till June, 2005, the total export from India to Germany grew at the rate 12 per cent to 1.6 billion Euro while import from Germany stood at 1.2 billion Euro,'' he added.
