Ex-Army personnel to be appointed on contract basis
Patna, Mar 22 (UNI) With a view to improving the law and order situation in the state, the Bihar government has decided to appoint 5,000 ex-Army personnel in the police force on contract basis.
State inspector general of police (headquarters) Anil Kumar Sinha said here today that ex-Army personnel would be absorbed in the special auxillary police (SAP) being raised for controlling unlawful activities.
Mr Sinha said the recruitment tests had already started at Danapur military cantonment from yesterday for providing contractual jobs to the ex-Army personnel who had assembled in large numbers to participate in the drive.
He said Brigadier DK Mohan and Colonel Rajneesh Mathur of Danapur Bihar Regiment Centre were also present on this occasion.
He said the uniform of the jawans of SAP would resemble those of the Army personnel.
