New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) It's champagne time for the Delhi State Industrial Development Corporation (DSIDC), which has become the first Indian company to win an ISO certification for a liquor vend.

The liquor vend at the DDA Shopping Centre in Masjid Moth, South Delhi has earned the ISO 9001-2000 certification.

''This is a thumbs up for DSIDC's inventory control, credit control and personnel management,'' DSIDC Managing Director Jalaj Shrivastava told UNI.

The certification, which is a recognition of quality management, is valid till March 2009.

The Corporation, which runs several vends in the city, has a credit card payment system and plans to launch a call centre operation.

It is also thinking of revamping the sale and marketing of Indian Made Foreign Liquor through its vends. A Loyalty Club Membership is also on the anvil along with special promotion offers.

Computerisation of all liquor shops of DSIDC is the next step.
